Turboworks is mainly known for turbocharger work, but a lot of the vehicles coming through the workshop end up needing additional repairs, diagnostics or servicing at the same time.

Other mechanical work we carry out
Most vehicles come to us for turbo-related work, but it rarely stops there. Once the car is on the ramp and we start going through it properly, other issues usually come up - worn parts, overdue servicing, boost leaks, oil contamination or faults that may have caused the problem in the first place. If it makes sense to get everything sorted while the vehicle is already in the workshop, that is normally what we recommend.
Diagnostics & Fault Finding
We carry out diagnostic checks and fault code reading daily, not just for turbo faults but for warning lights, running faults, poor boost, limp mode and problems that have often already been misdiagnosed elsewhere.
Boost leaks, faulty actuators, split intercooler hoses, EGR faults and DPF problems are things we deal with all the time on both petrol and diesel vehicles.
Servicing & Oil Changes
If a vehicle comes in for turbo replacement, we will usually carry out an oil and filter service before it goes back on the road. There is little point fitting a reconditioned turbocharger to an engine running contaminated oil.
Routine servicing and oil changes are also carried out in-house on both petrol and diesel vehicles, whether the work is turbo-related or general maintenance.
Timing Belts & Timing Chains
We carry out timing belt and timing chain replacement work on a range of petrol and diesel engines, including vehicles already in the workshop for turbocharger or engine-related repairs.
Brakes & Suspension
We also carry out brake and suspension work in-house, especially where worn or damaged parts are picked up during inspection or diagnostic work.
Sticking calipers, worn discs and pads, broken springs, suspension knocks and worn suspension components are all things we regularly come across while vehicles are already in the workshop.
Engine Repairs & Rebuilds
We take on selected engine repair and rebuild work depending on the vehicle, the condition of the engine and current workshop workload.
Some vehicles arrive with turbo damage caused by larger engine problems such as oil starvation, overheating or timing failure. Where needed, we can inspect the engine properly and advise whether repair, rebuild or replacement makes the most sense before any major work is carried out.
Remapping and Performance Support
Remapping is available for petrol and diesel vehicles, including some applications fitted with upgraded or hybrid turbochargers.
Correct setup is important, especially on modified vehicles where poor calibration can lead to boost control problems, excessive exhaust temperatures, warning lights or unreliable performance.
We can advise on supporting modifications and whether the existing setup is suitable for remapping.
DPF-Related Repairs and Diagnostics
Blocked DPF systems are a common cause of diesel running issues, warning lights and loss of power, particularly on vehicles used mainly for short journeys or stop-start driving.
We regularly deal with failed regeneration cycles, pressure sensor faults, excessive soot build-up and other emissions-related problems, many of which can also contribute to turbocharger faults and poor boost performance if left unresolved.
Where required, we can also advise on supporting repairs and professional DPF cleaning depending on what's actually causing the problem.
