Replacement turbochargers supplied to London by Turboworks

If you need a replacement turbo in London, the closest supplier is not always the best option. What matters is getting the right unit, matched correctly to the vehicle, and supplied by someone who understands why the original turbo failed.

Turboworks is based in Eastbourne, East Sussex, but we regularly supply new and remanufactured turbochargers to garages, mechanics and private customers across London.

For trade customers, this means support without sending the vehicle away. The car stays in your workshop, we help check the old turbo or vehicle details, and the replacement can be dispatched by courier or delivered where available.

We cover more updates, supplier guidance and practical customer information in the Turboworks blog.

Turbocharger supply for London garages

A large part of our work is trade supply. We already support garages, mechanics and specialist workshops across London, including BMW, Porsche and specialists working on Mercedes, Bentley, Audi, Volkswagen and similar vehicles.

Some garages know the exact part number they need. Others send us the registration, chassis number (VIN), photos of the old unit or the numbers stamped on the turbo. In most cases, we can help confirm the right replacement before the order is placed.

This matters because many vehicles use different turbo versions depending on engine code, power output, emissions setup, model year and manufacturer updates. Two units can look almost identical but still be wrong for the vehicle.

For London garages and mechanics, we can help with replacement turbocharger supply, trade pricing, part number checks, registration and chassis number (VIN) identification, exchange units, fitting advice where needed, and courier or driver delivery depending on stock and route.

That is where using a specialist supplier makes a difference. You are not just ordering a part from a catalogue. You are getting support from a workshop that deals with turbochargers every day.

You can also see our wider turbocharger services, including supply, inspection, repair, rebuild and fitting support.

Delivery to London

For most one-off orders and private customers, we normally use DPD courier delivery. If the correct unit is in stock and the order is placed in time, next-day delivery is the normal option.

For repeat trade customers, we also have our own drivers travelling into London regularly. Depending on the day, route and urgency, this can sometimes allow same-day or next-day delivery.

We do not advertise every order as same-day because it depends on stock, timing and where our driver is that day. But London is a regular delivery area for us, with turbochargers going out by courier and driver throughout the week.

If the job is urgent, customers can also collect from our Eastbourne workshop. We are around two hours from many parts of London depending on traffic, and customers do travel to us when they need specialist help. We have even had vehicles brought to us from much further away on trailers.

City driving and turbo failure

Vehicles used in London often spend a lot of time in stop-start traffic. On diesel vehicles especially, short journeys and low-speed driving can make DPF problems more likely. If the DPF becomes restricted, it can increase exhaust back pressure and contribute to poor performance, smoke, limp mode or repeat boost faults.

The turbocharger is not always the root cause. It can fail because of another issue in the engine system, such as poor oil supply, oil contamination, boost leaks, DPF restriction or a control fault.

That is why the cause of failure should be checked before replacing the turbo. Fitting a replacement unit without fixing the original problem can lead to another failure.

For more general guidance, our technical turbocharger information hub explains common symptoms, part number identification and failure causes.

London Taxi turbochargers

We supply replacement turbochargers for selected London Taxi models, including the TX4 2.8 diesel and the newer LEVC London Taxi eCity 1.5 petrol.

The London Taxi TX4 turbocharger is commonly identified by part number 839658-0002. We also supply a remanufactured LEVC London Taxi turbocharger, commonly identified by part numbers 16379700405 and 32208298, for selected 150HP B3154T eCity applications.

These units are suitable for taxi garages, fleet repairers and mechanics looking for correctly matched replacement turbos to help reduce vehicle downtime. The original turbocharger part number should always be checked before ordering.

Exchange supply

Many remanufactured turbochargers are supplied on an exchange basis. We send out the replacement unit, and the original turbo is returned to us afterwards.

The process is the same for London orders as it is for customers elsewhere. Most courier orders are placed with a surcharge first, so the replacement can be dispatched without waiting for the old unit to arrive. The original turbo then needs to be returned within 21 days, and the surcharge is refunded once it has been received and accepted.

This keeps the repair moving, especially for garages that need to get a customer’s vehicle back on the road without unnecessary delays.
